You don’t have to travel far to find a lovely spot for your engagement photos. The city of Mansfield is a centralized hub conveniently positioned between Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio. It’s easily accessible and small enough to allow for privacy in your engagement photo session. I find myself often capturing both Cleveland wedding venues and Columbia wedding locations while still landing in Mansfield for sessions like this one. I call Mansfield, Ohio both my home and the great connector between these major cities. Having the ability to jump between such amazing local Ohio wedding locations fills me with gratitude!
When scheduling your engagement session, it’s important to keep in mind the expected weather for the area. Similar to the rest of the state, the weather for Mansfield, Ohio will be very cold in the winter. While in early June, the city hosts the Miss Ohio Program and the town becomes swarmed with people.
We settled on the end of June for Victoria and Jarrell’s session and it worked out perfectly. There were so many incredible locations that these two had the chance to explore!
Downtown Mansfield is really a top notch destination for versatile engagement photos. There are stunning traditional brick buildings alongside colonnades on historic buildings that offer different backdrop options. We can walk along these historic buildings or make a stop at a local diner or coffee-shop for interior shots.
These lovebirds chose the super aesthetically pleasing bar called Martini’s on Main. A spot on the main strip of downtown Mansfield Ohio, the bar includes a secluded open-air back patio. During the summertime, this outdoor feature is pretty by day and magical by night under the twinkle lights!
At most sites downtown, a permit is not required. It is best to just check in with the business owners before taking photographs onsite. As your Ohio engagement photographer, I will always take care of this for you!
Victoria and Jarrell shared lots of laughs while sipping on a delicious lemon drop and an old fashioned at the end of their session. Enjoying drinks together provided them with a more private moment while I was able to photograph them through the front window of the bar.
This couple was super fun and up for anything! They even added an engagement announcement newspaper as a prop to utilize during their session. The newspaper was a blast for me to create and personalize for the two of them! I now include this as an add-on option to all of my engagement sessions.
