Your wedding venue is so much more than a place. It’s where the next chapter of your love story begins! It can easily become one of the most important choices of your day because it determines so much of how it will look and flow. In some ways it affects me the most as your wedding photographer, since I’m the one capturing all of it. That’s why when couples choose a venue like this Ohio greenhouse, I can’t wait to get started!

The Legacy on Possum Run is a greenhouse wedding venue found in Bellville, Ohio. You’ll find it just 45 minutes from Columbus and a little over an hour from Cleveland. I love the variety that the location offers between the different looks of its ceremony and reception sites.

The venue’s three distinct spots include an airy greenhouse, a rustic wood-paneled and stone-walled room with stunning skylights and indoor waterfall, or their 170-year old heritage barn. Your rental includes two of these spaces and accommodates anything from a micro wedding, to up to 250 guests. Matt and Bailey chose the greenhouse and rustic reception space while also making full use of the grounds for portraits and bridal party pictures.

You can book the site up to a year in advance and it has a list of recommended vendors from the area. I can’t get over how great it is to capture the Bridal Suite! The space offers great lighting, plenty of mirrors, a mini refrigerator, and salon-style chairs.

This Ohio greenhouse site also offers up to 2,000 pieces of decor available for complimentary use. Bailey is a pink girlie and she added so many subtle and obvious pink additions showcasing this inspiration including pink wedding flowers.

A pro tip for The Legacy on Possum Run is how imperative it is that the wedding photography timeline moves back by at least 30 minutes for sunset. Golden hour will disappear earlier than expected because the venue is nestled in a true valley. When you catch it, spots outside along the property are perfect for the most delightful couples photos during sunset.

This Ohio greenhouse venue is owned by wonderful people who are so accommodating. They will work with you to make sure that your day is exactly how you imagined it!

While Matt and Bailey had also planned on a videographer for the day, there were unexpected complications and the videographer did not end up making it. Fortunately, the couple had chosen a wedding photography package that included a second shooter.

My second shooter and I stepped up and literally did the job of both a wedding photographer and videographer together as a team! I actually surprised the bride and groom with the video recap of their day which included their harpist’s recorded music. The video ended up being really wonderful and the bride just wept when she saw it!

The opportunity to make this happen for the couple was so sweet even though it was completely unexpected! Their package also included the addition of vintage Polaroids that felt so important to have these ready to view on the actual day. The couple really enjoyed that!

Another added bonus is the fact that these two are followers of Jesus. This is a belief also true of my husband and I. It is utterly life-giving when I get to share that with my couples. Matt and Bailey were giddy and had a love for each other that was so evident and easy to capture. The McGowans are just as lovely as a couple could ever be!
